Larb
Larb is a traditional Lao and Thai dish that is made from minced meat (usually pork, chicken, or fish) that is cooked with a variety of spices and herbs. The dish is often served with rice, and can be served either as a main course or as a side dish.
Larb has its origins in the Lao kingdom of Laos, which was established in the 14th century. By the 16th century, the kingdom had expanded to include parts of present-day Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam. It is thought that larb was first created in the Lao city of Luang Prabang, which was the kingdom's capital until the 18th century.
Larb became a popular dish in Thailand during the 19th century, when the country was under the rule of King Rama III. The king is said to have been a fan of the dish, and he often ordered it to be served at royal banquets.
