Packet
Packet recipes are a type of convenience food that became popular in the United States in the mid-20th century. They are typically made by combining dry ingredients in a small packet or bag, which can then be stored for later use.
Packet recipes were first introduced by the Knorr company in the 1930s, with their first product being a beef bouillon mix. This product was an instant success, and Knorr soon began offering other types of mixes, including chicken, vegetable, and fish bouillons.
Other companies began producing similar products, and by the 1950s, packet recipes were widely available. They became especially popular during the 1960s and 1970s, as more and more Americans began working outside the home and had less time for cooking.
