Pakora

Pakora, also called pakoda, pakodi, or ponako, is a fried snack food popular in South Asia. It is made by taking one or two ingredients, such as potato, onion, spinach, chicken, or paneer, and dipping them in a batter of besan or chickpea flour and then frying them.

Pakora recipes are thought to have originated in the subcontinent, most likely in India or Pakistan. The snacks were likely created to be a quick and easy way to use up leftover vegetables or meat.Pakora-like snacks can be found in many parts of Asia, including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

In India, pakoras are often served as an appetizer or snack. They can be made with a variety of different ingredients, but the most popular fillings are potato, onion, and spinach. Pakoras are usually served with chutney or ketchup on the side.
