Shooter

A shooter is a small portion of a mixed drink, typically served in a shot glass. Shooter recipes date back to the early 1900s, when bartenders would mix together various ingredients and serve them in a single shot. Today, shooter recipes are more commonly used as party drinks or as a way to get guests to interact with each other.

The first recorded shooter recipe was for a drink called the "Buckley's Chance," which was published in a bartending guide in 1909. The recipe called for equal parts gin, whisky, and absinthe, which was then mixed and served in a shot glass.

Since then, shooter recipes have evolved to include a wide variety of ingredients. Commonly used ingredients include vodka, rum, tequila, and liqueurs. shooters are often served as a "chaser" to a stronger drink, or as a standalone drink.
