Chili is a spicy stew-like dish that originated in the state of Texas. The dish is traditionally made with beef, beans, and chili peppers, and is often served with cheese, sour cream, and chopped onions on top.

Before cooking, it's important to chop the onion and garlic into small pieces so that they blend into the chili. After that, brown the ground beef in a large pot, stirring and breaking it into small pieces with a wooden spoon. Once the beef is browned, add the chili powder, onion, garlic and other seasonings. Stir in the diced tomatoes and beans. Allow the chili to simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally. If desired, add a pinch of sugar to balance out the heat.
